Happy B-day, Little Sis

I'm headed down to Naples tomorrow, to see my youngest sister, so we can all celebrate her 35th birthday. For some reason, I was compelled to seek out this video, and I can think of no more fitting b-day tribute to my li'l Widget. Happy, happy (joy, joy) Keirnan...

Really, what could be better than Eric Idle (my "favorite Monty Python guy." I'm sure he tells people that story to this day) and a penguin?

Good Lord, I'm Old...

...Or "My Husband is a Dork." Well, I had a very blog-worthy incident recently. On Sunday, the hubs and I went out to "Cocktail Cove" - an area where boats anchor up and the margaritas flow like water. It's a magical place, really. So, anywhoo, one of our Cove Buddies came up with the brilliant idea of crafting a floating Beer Pong table. And, that Sunday, I played my first-ever game of Beer Pong. The whole Beer Pong phenomenon started after I graduated from FSU. My hubby, on the other hand, was a veteran of the game, and he's only three years younger than I am. How did this happen? When I brought up the drinking game I am most adept at, Pigs, he looked at me like I was insane. Last night, when we talked about it again, he thought Pigs was a companion game to the other games people "my age" would play, like "parchesi or cribbage." Yeah, he's kind of a dork, isn't he?

More Journey Love...

Journey and Brendan Fraser? I think I've died and gone to heaven....

Damn You, VH-1!

I thought I'd take a break from my frustrating job search and cruise the boob tube for a little while. I noticed that VH-1 Classic had on a concert by one of my all-time favorite bands, Journey, so I thought that nothing would bring a little sunshine to my day like a little Steve Perry. And, to my surprise it was not the Journey of my youth, but the Journey tribute band, the Neal Schon Project. I'm always one to root for the underdog but I'm sorry, no one who won lead singer duties for a band with a YouTube video is a member of my Journey. And...it's VH-1 Classic anyway, doesn't that mean it should be the classic members (I know Steve Perry wasn't one of the original members of Journey either, but Perry-era Journey kicked ass)? So, as a tribute to the line-up that had me drawing scarab spaceships on all of my notebooks in high school, I bring you what I should have been watching this afternoon...

Notice I didn't go with the obvious, "Don't Stop Belivin'" - "Stone In Love" is an unappreciated gem of a ditty.
